10 Ways to Show You Care

Everyone knows the power of those three little words: "I love you." But maybe you're not at that stage with your significant other — or you want to find a creative way to express how you feel and make your honey feel good. It doesn't have to be something expensive or time consuming. It can be easy as saying a few sweet words or picking out a small token of your affection. Here's our list of 10 simple ways to show you care.

  1. Don't Wait for Valentines Day

Instead of waiting for a holiday to show your significant other how you feel, try celebrating your relationship on any random day. Have a weekly anniversary on the same day you met, or make each other valentines in the middle of the summer. "It's a way of saying thank you for being you," says Christina, 18.

  2. Make a Mix CD

Nothing beats a gift that comes straight from the heart. Spend some time compiling songs that remind you of your loved one or arrange them in a way that tells the story of your relationship. A custom mix is an inexpensive, yet priceless treasure.

  3. Be Spontaneous

"Keeping things fresh in a relationship is key," says Kyle, 17. When you've been dating someone for a while things can start to feel routine. Bring back those sparks by mixing in the unexpected. Surprise your significant other with an impromptu kiss, a new activity, or a special gift.

  4. Find Different Ways to Say "I Love You"

There are many ways to show love and affection, and saying "I Iove you" is just one of them. Go out of your way to be considerate by bringing your girlfriend her favorite ice cream or helping your boyfriend with his homework. You can even learn to say "I love you" in a different language.

  5. Make Time for a Time Out

"Remind each other how much you care by taking a break from the stresses of every day life," says Katherine, 20. School, homework, and family obligations can be time consuming, but that doesn't mean your relationship has to suffer. Take time out from your schedule by scheduling a picnic, a hike, or even a walk in the park.

  6. Send a Love Letter the Old-Fashioned Way

E-mail and instant messages are how most of us communicate these days, but hand-written letters can mean a lot. Composing a non-digital letter with a personal touch shows creativity and caring.

  7. Make Movie Night Your Own

"Cuddling together in a blanket while watching TV or a movie is so romantic," says Jennifer, 18. Turn a typical Friday night at the cineplex into a home theater extravaganza. Show a movie marathon of your SO's favorite films, pop your own kettle corn, and whip up a batch of fresh-baked cookies.

  8. Get Creative

Who says you're too old for arts and crafts? Try painting pictures of each other, stringing together matching bracelets, or framing a cute photo. Working on a project as a couple can really enhance your partner skills.

  9. Make Mini-Sacrifices

Even though you and your significant other may have a lot in common, you probably also have a lot of different tastes and opinions. Offering to take part in an activity that you don't usually go for, but your SO really enjoys, can be a nice gesture. "It tells them that you really care about them," says Dave, 14. Are you always dragging your boyfriend to horror movies when he favors comedies? Treat him to a screening of the latest Adam Sandler movie some time.

  10. Open Your Heart

Gifts and dates are great, but at the end of the day what really matters is your ability to communicate your feelings. Sharing your hopes and dreams, and listening in return, is a brave way to keep your relationship honest. Opening yourself up is one of the easiest ways to get closer to your honey and show you care!

Do you know how come Today Rains?
Do you know the Story of The Cowherd and the Weaving Maid? ( 牛郎织女 )

It's Chinese of 7th of July 七月初七, The Cowherd and The Weaving Maid Meet.
Here is the Story i wanna Share with you guys out there.

Let's Start the Story.

On the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, called the "festival of the seventh evening" (qīxījié 七夕节), girls hold weaving competitions in commemoration of the Weaving Maid.
The beautiful and charming Weaving Maid (zhīnǚ 织女)was a servant in the palace of the Celestial Mother of the West (Xī Wángmŭ 西王母), where she spent her days weaving.

Meanwhile on earth an amazingly handsome and hardworking Cowherd (niúláng 牛郎) was miserably lonely. (Cows, it develops, do not make inspiring companions.) His parents had died when he was young, and he lived with his older brother and his brother's wife, who were both very lazy and treated him as a servant. xxxxxxxxxxxx

It is not clear how the Cowherd came to the attention of the Weaving Maid. Some people say that she and her six sisters came to earth to bath in a beautiful stream, where the Cowherd saw them and was transfixed by their beauty, and picked up the clothes one of them had left on the bank. When the sisters spotted him, six of them hurried to put on their clothes, turn into doves, and fly back to the realm of the Celestial Mother of the West. But, the Weaving Maid's clothes were in his hand, and she had to beg to get them back. No-one knows quite how the negotiation proceeded, but by the end the Weaving Maid had fallen completely in love with the Cowherd. So rather than turn to a dove and fly back to the Celestial Mother, she remained in the world of mortals and married the Cowherd, and they even had two children.

The Celestial Mother of the West seems not to have noticed initially, but when the affair came to her attention, she ordered her troops to abduct the Weaving Maid and escort her back to her celestial loom. The poor Cowherd tried to pursue them, but he had to carry the children, and in any case even a determined mortal is unlikely to catch up with a force of celestial lictors However the Celestial Mother did not want to take chances. Drawing a hairpin from her hair, she blew on it and instantly it turned into a heavenly river, the one we know today as the Milky Way, and it flowed forth between the Weaving Maid and the pursuing Cowherd.

Thus the earthly Cowherd and the heavenly Weaving Maid were separated forever. But in recognition of their great love for one another, the their children cried piteously to their grandmother to reunite them with their mother. The Weaving Maid's six sisters joined in the plea. Some people say that all nature was so moved by the tragedy, that a flock of magpies (què 鹊) miraculously appeared to form a bridge over the heavenly river, and that this sign of cosmic attention caused the Celestial Mother of the West to relent. Others say that she relented because she was merciful, and called the magpies herself.

The Celestial Mother allowed the lovers (and their children) to be reunited for one night every year, on the 7th night of the 7th lunar month. On that day each year, a flock of magical magpies suddenly appears and forms a bridge over the Milky Way, and the Weaving Maid and the Cowherd meet in the middle.

So every of this Day of the seventh of the lunar month, it will be Rains, which me there is a Beautiful Memory they spend so that they are crying. Do You guys Believe? For me i Believe.

Feelings and Sex

Sure, sex ed may teach you what body part goes where and when — but does it teach you how you'll feel after hooking up?

Probably, not. Unfortunately, even the most comprehensive sex education usually teaches only the physical parts of sex. Most teens are left to figure out the emotional part by themselves.

It's All in Your Head

And young people often get confused, says Amber Madison, a former college sex columnist and author of Hooking Up: A Girl's All-Out Guide to Sex and Sexuality. When Amber tours college campuses to talk about sex, it's almost always about the emotional aspects of sex. And what she finds most of the time is that teens get confused about whether they're having sex because they want to or whether they're having it because of outside pressure.

On the one hand, Amber says, she's constantly breaking the myth that only boys like sex and only girls want relationships: Many girls Amber meets like how sex feels physically and often, boys want to have a real relationship, she says. On the other hand, Amber's also constantly reminding girls that having sex because they want to be liked by a boy is not a good enough reason to have sex.

"A huge one for girls who are seniors in high school is to lose their virginity and get it over with before they go off to college," she says. "That's not enough."

Emotional Fallout

Dr. Bonnie Halpern-Felsher, associate professor of pediatrics at the Division of Adolescent Medicine at University of California, San Francisco, co-authored a study looking at how teens feel after sex. The study, published in a recent issue of the Journal of Pediatrics, builds on previous research that found teens expect sex to improve their relationships, make them more popular, and make them feel good.

What this study found is that sex can do all those things, but girls are also more likely than boys to feel used and guilty after sex. The study also found:

  • Teens experienced more positive feelings after having sex than negative feelings.
  • Up to a half of all sexually experienced teens — guys and girls — said they felt used, guilty, or bad about themselves after having sex.
  • Boys were twice as likely as girls to feel more popular or good about themselves after having sex.
  • Boys were also three times as likely to report that their girlfriend got pregnant and four times as likely as girls to say they got a sexually transmitted infection.
  • Teens who had vaginal sex were more likely than teens that had oral sex to have positive feelings after sex.
  • Teens who had both vaginal and oral sex were more likely to report feeling pleasure and having stronger relationships as a result. This may be because teens in longer-term and more stable relationships were also having more types of sex.
  • Teens who had only oral sex were less likely to feel guilty or to feel used than teens who had vaginal sex. Teens who only had oral sex were also less likely to report getting in trouble with their parents or to have their relationships to get worse afterwards.
Sex Isn't the Only Answer

Dr. Halpern-Felsher thinks it's important for adults who teach sex-ed classes to acknowledge that sex feels good. "One of the main findings is that sexual behavior, oral or vaginal, does have benefits to it. That's what teens are reporting to us and what we know as adults," she says. "But separate from the benefits, the question is, is this the right time in your life to be engaging in an intimate act you may not be prepared for? There are other ways to experience intimacy and benefits that do not need to involve sexual behaviors. You also can get popular other ways."

Friends Forever??

Your best friend is possibly THE most important person in your life. What would you do without that someone you can tell ALL to?... who always understands?... who can be fun or serious, depending on what you need?

But sometimes friendship's road is a little bumpy. Or nauseatingly twisty. Or it's a complete and total dead end. What do you do when the relationship between you and your best buddy changes?

Scenario #1: Drifting Apart

You've always been tighter than new Doc Martens®. But now things have changed. She no longer wants to jog with you. She'd rather hit the chat rooms. Or she's become crazed about hanging with her new love interest. Your CD-burning sessions are just a memory.

It's a bummer when old buddies start having less in common. But sometimes these out-of-syncs don't last. It might be worth trying to get into your friend's new interest (not counting your best bud's new love, of course!). Or you might try something new on your own. Or meet some new folks who like doing the things you enjoy. Another thing to try is (gasp!) talking to your friend about it - in a non-in-your-face, -this-is-your-fault way. If you feel too emotional, try writing a thoughtful letter. Let it sit a couple of days, and read it again. The goal is telling how you feel, not "winning."

Scenario #2: Fights

"Yes, he is." "No, he isn't." The argument could continue for eternity.

No matter how sure you are that you're right, friendship is based on (sing it, Aretha!) R-E-S-P-E-C-T:

  • Since you and your bud aren't clones, you will disagree sometimes!
  • Is it really worth fighting over? If it's trivial, or you're not going to agree no matter what, why not give it up? Agree to disagree and get on with life.
  • Friends have differences of opinion without putting each other down.
  • Even if you'll never agree - try to see the other person's viewpoint. At least honor his right to have his own opinions.
  • Never get physical. Violence can make a small problem into a life-altering disaster.

Scenario #3: End of the Road

Is the friendship over? If you're not the one ending it, it feels like an elephant stomped your heart into a billion bleeding pieces. You may know why it's all over - or you will never know the reason. You might want to try telling your ex-BFF how you feel. At least you won't spend the rest of your life wondering if you should have.

But the thing is, you can't force someone to be your friend - and you wouldn't want to. Once you accept the fact that you've lost a best friend, expect to mourn. You've lost someone you love. Talk to someone you trust about it. Give yourself time. But don't freeze in a looking-back, holding pattern. Be open to new friendships. You never know when the "next BFF" is going to come along.

Today is the 1st of July (Chinese Month)
Photobucket

The Ghost Festival(中元节) is a traditional Chinese festival and holiday, which is celebrated by Chinese in many countries. In the Chinese calendar (a lunisolar calendar), the Ghost Festival is on the 15th night of the seventh lunar month. In Chinese tradition, the thirteenth day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar is called Ghost Day and the seventh month in general is regarded as the Ghost Month (鬼月), in which ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm. During the Qingming Festival the living descendants pay homage to their ancestors and on Ghost Day, the deceased visit the living. On the thirteenth day the three realms of Heaven, Hell and the realm of the living are open and both Taoists and Buddhists would perform rituals to transmute and absolve the sufferings of the deceased. Intrinsic to the Ghost Month is ancestor worship, where traditionally the filial piety of descendants extends to their ancestors even after their deaths. Activities during the month would include preparing ritualistic food offerings, burning incense, and burning joss paper, a papier-mache form of material items such as clothes, gold and other fine goods for the visiting spirits of the ancestors. Elaborate meals would be served with empty seats for each of the deceased in the family treating the deceased as if they are still living. Ancestor worship is what distinguishes Qingming Festival from Ghost Festival because the former includes paying respects to all deceased, including the same and younger generations, while the latter only includes older generations. Other festivities may include, burying and releasing miniature paper boats and lanterns on water, which signifies giving directions to the lost ghosts and spirits of the ancestors and other deities.

The Ghost Festival shares some similarities with the predominantly Mexican observance of El Día de los Muertos. Due to theme of ghosts and spirits, the festival is sometimes also known as the Chinese Halloween, though many have debated the difference between the two.

The Buddha's joyful day

To Buddhists, the seventh lunar month is a month of joy. This is because the fifteenth day of the seventh month is often known as the Buddha's joyful day and the day of rejoice for monks. The origins of the Buddha's joyful day can be found in various scriptures. When the Buddha was alive, his disciples meditated in the forests of India during the rainy season of summer. Three months later, on the fifteen day of the seventh month, they would emerge from the forests to celebrate the completion of their meditation and report their progress to the Buddha. In the Ullambana Sutra, the Buddha instructs his disciple Maudgalyāyana on how to obtain liberation for his mother, who had been reborn into a lower realm, by making food offerings to the sangha on the fifteenth day of the seventh month. Because the number of monks who attained enlightenment during that period was high, the Buddha was very pleased.

Mahāmaudgalyāyana saves his mother from hell

Food is offered to the ancestors during the annual Ghost Festival

The Buddhist origins of the festival can be traced back to a story that originally came from India, but later took on culturally Chinese overtones. In the Ullambana Sutra, there is a descriptive account of a Buddhist monk named Mahāmaudgalyāyana, originally a brahmin youth who later ordained, and later becoming one of the Buddha's chief disciples. Mahāmaudgalyāyana was also known for having clairvoyant powers, an uncommon trait amongst monks. After he attained arhatship, he began to think deeply of his parents, and wondered what happened to them. He used his clairvoyance to see where they were reborn and found his father in the heavenly realms i.e the realm of the gods. However, his mother had been reborn in a lower realm, known as the Realm of Hungry Ghosts. His mother took on the form of a hungry ghost--- so called because it could not eat due to its highly thin & fragile throat in which no food could pass through, yet it was always hungry because it had a fat belly. His mother had been greedy with the money he left her. He had instructed her to kindly host any Buddhist monks that ever came her way, but instead she withheld her kindness and her money. It was for this reason she was reborn in the realm of hungry ghosts.Mahāmaudgalyāyana eased his mother's suffering by receiving the instructions of feeding pretas from the Buddha. The Buddha instructed Mahāmaudgalyāyana to place pieces of food on a clean plate, reciting a mantra seven times, snap his fingers then tip the food on clean ground. By doing so, the preta's hunger was relieved and through these merits, his mother was reborn as a dog under the care of a noble family.Mahāmaudgalyāyana also sought the Buddha's advice to help his mother gain a human birth. The Buddha established a day after the traditional summer retreat (the 15th day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar, usually mid-to-late August) on which Mahāmaudgalyāyana was to offer food and robes to 500 bhikkhus. Through the merits created, Mahāmaudgalyāyana's mother finally gained a human birth.Due to Confucian influence, the offering became directed towards ancestors rather than the Sangha and ancestor worship has replaced the simple ritual of relieving the hunger of pretas. However, most Buddhist temples still continue the ancient practice of donating to the Sangha as well as to perform rituals for the hungry ghosts.

This's the note for the another World of us.
